The Colorado Department of Revenue's Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) regulates the state's Medical and Retail Marijuana industries. According to Colorado Marijuana Rules, marijuana businesses designated as Responsible Vendors must ensure all employees complete Responsible Vendor Training within 90 days of hire and retake the course every two years.

The Colorado Cannabis Responsible Vendor Training course teaches:
All modules end with a five-question quiz to keep employees engaged and promote information retention. Students must score 80% or higher on each quiz to continue. At the end of the course, there is a 40-question final exam. A score of 70% or higher is required to earn the Responsible Vendor Training course certificate.
The quizzes and final exam include an unlimited number of attempts, so your employees are guaranteed to pass the course. Upon successful course completion, you can instantly access any employee's certificate.

As of Dec. 1, 2022, MED rules require licensees to complete this two-hour training course within 90 days of hire. Licensees must also retake the course every two years.
Retail marijuana licensees in Colorado must meet the following requirements:
Colorado first legalized medical cannabis use over 20 years ago, when voters approved Amendment 20. Legal adult recreational use followed in 2012 after voters passed Amendment 64 to the Colorado Constitution.
Students must complete their training and pass the final exam within 90 days of registering for the course.
To earn a rResponsible Vendor Training certificate, employees must pass a 40-question final exam with a score of at least 70%. The exam has a 180-minute time limit, and students have an unlimited number of attempts to pass.
To help prepare students for the exam, the course includes a quiz after each lesson module. Students also have an unlimited number of attempts to pass each quiz with a score of 80% or higher.
Responsible Vendor Training certificates are available to download and print immediately after students complete the course. Business owners can easily verify training completion and access certificates as needed.
Responsible Vendor Training certificates expire one year from the issue date. Colorado requires dispensary employees to retake the course every two years.
